Major Akshay Girish Memorial Trust(MAGMT) supports the annual expenses for education for a number of children across India. Most are children of widows and families in difficult financial times. Financial contributions have been extended to emergency medical treatment of soldier families in need and as family support to widows with children.
Major Akshay Girish Memorial Trust Scholarships and Achievement Awards are given to students in Jain University and Sri Kumarans Childrens Home- CBSE.
MAGMT is part of young Sheetal’s journey from #Kistwar in J&K to #Bengaluru for her medical needs. Happy to come together with the Indian Army and Anupam Kher Foundation for girl child from a small village in Kishtwar district in search of her dreams. Sheetal completed her class 10 exams and expressed a desire to train for Paralympic sports. After assessments for potential, training has been facilitated in collaboration with Preethi Rai from #BeingYou. She and younger sister are being supported for training in archery.
Strengthening Govt Efforts During Covid Pandemic
MAGMT proactively distributed masks, face shields & PPE kits to police, bus drivers, frontline healthcare workers, rations to migrant families, contributed to PM Cares Fund, Contributed to Youth For Seva for cooked meals and to treatment needs of covid affected.
During the second wave of the Covid Pandemic, responded to request from Kanamangala Panchayat, Bengaluru rural for an oxygen fitted ambulance to swiftly and safely transport covid positive people to covid care centres. This was provided for a period of two months in June/July 2021 and many precious lives were saved as a result of this facility which is a matter of satisfaction for MAGMT.
