Vijay Diwas Commemoration & Felicitating War Veterans

To commemorate Vijay Diwas of 1971, inspiring War Veterans who fought in the war for liberation of Bangladesh are felicitated by Major Akshay Girish Memorial Trust at a special annual event in Bengaluru. The India – Pakistan war of 1971 came to be known as a landmark in the history of warfare. In a matter of 13 days, the Indian Army brought a formidable Pakistani army to its knees, took 93,000 prisoners and helped 75 million tormented people of then East Pakistan to liberated as a free nation – Bangladesh. Since 2019, every year MAGMT organises a grand event for students and citizens to know and interact with real heroes who made the war victory a reality. Families of soldiers who made supreme sacrifice fighting in wars and battles are also felicitated.

MAGMT also celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas, Independence Day and Republic Day. Activities and competitions for students are organised. Patriotic songs and dances, special painting and essay contests and solidarity march have been organised in Bengaluru and Hubbali.
